It’s nearly opening time for the Me2uCentre!

This project is the realisation of three people’s dream to establish a facility that helps those in the community living with dementia to remain independent for longer.

As well as providing a safe and stimulating space for people experiencing the effects of dementia, Me2uCentre will offer carers support and opportunity for time out.

Now it’s the countdown to the launch of the Me2UCentre, which will be opened by well-known community campaigner Tony McGann, who told Click Liverpool: “As a carer I know only too well how important it is for people like me to have a break and recharge the batteries, if only for a few hours, to provide better support for our loved ones. I know that the Me2u centre will be a much used, much loved part of the Kirkby community.

As the centre makes great strides towards completion, having installed a kitchen, wet room and café, there is still much more we want to achieve. The Me2UCentre hopes to provide, in addition to its current offering, a sensory garden and a non-slip floor. Our founders Rosie, Angela and Amanda have set up a page on JustGiving to raise £5000 towards the costs.
